Best neighborhoods for young professionals under $2500?

Moving to Toronto for work and looking for recommendations on neighborhoods. Budget is around $2200-2500 for a 1BR. Want somewhere with good transit access, some nightlife, and ideally walkable to downtown. Liberty Village? King West? What do you all think?
