Apartment hunting vent - utterly exhausted and frustrated

Just need to vent real quick. I'm so burnt out from applying to so many places only to be ghosted or rejected for not meeting some impossible requirements. Why do landlords expect perfect credit and references for a basement suite? This market is absolutely ridiculous, and I can't take it anymore!
