Is a pet deposit legal in Ontario? Confused landlord rules!

I'm really stressed about my current lease ending and my landlord is asking for a pet deposit. I thought pet deposits are illegal in Ontario, but they're asking for a pet fee or some kind of 'pet rent.' What are they actually allowed to charge? Can anyone clarify this? I'm running out of time!
