Strange gifts: my landlord leaves fruit at my door!

So my landlord has taken it upon themselves to leave random fruit on my doorstep every week. Sometimes it’s apples, other times it’s a surprise pineapple! I appreciate the thought, but is this common? Is there a hidden meaning in the fruit choices? Anyone else have a quirky landlord with odd gifts?
