Why is subletting such a nightmare in Toronto?!

Another rent increase, seriously? How can I ever sublet my place with these crazy prices? Landlords want $2800 for a bachelor?! It’s so sickening! I’ve wasted hours viewing places that are snatched up before I even get a chance to breathe. This market is just impossible! 😩
