How's the rental vibe in Parkdale these days?

I've been checking out Parkdale and it feels like such an eclectic mix! The artsy vibe is great, but what I really want to know is about the rental prices. Are they manageable on an entry-level salary? Also, is it a safe area to live in? Would love to hear from anyone currently living there!
