Shocked by Toronto's Insane Apartment Parking Costs!

Is it just me, or are the parking costs in Toronto absolutely outrageous? How much for a parking spot? I'm considering downsizing to a condo, but the monthly parking fees are off the charts! Is street parking a better alternative, or is it worth paying for the convenience? Help!
