Landlord's Pet Rock Collection: A New Quirky Rule

So, my landlord just told me that I need to say hello to each of their pet rocks when I pass by them in the hallway. Apparently, they believe the rocks need positive vibes. Is this normal or am I the weird one? Anyone else have a quirky landlord with odd rules?
