Need Advice on Renting in Kensington Market

Hi everyone! I'm considering moving to Kensington Market but I’m not sure if I can afford it. My salary is around $65,000 a year, and I've seen places listed for around $2,500/month. Is that reasonable? Also, what’s the vibe of the neighborhood like for someone new to Toronto?
