Confused About Deposit Limits and Upfront Costs

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with my new landlord. They’re asking for several months’ rent upfront, but I thought there were limits on deposits in Ontario. Has anyone else dealt with this? What’s the typical expectation when moving in? Looking for advice!
