Are Pet Deposits Legal in Ontario? Help Needed!

I'm a bit confused about the rules around pet deposits in Ontario. My landlord just mentioned a pet fee, but I've heard that pet deposits might be illegal here. What can they really charge for having pets? Are there limits to increases, too? Any clarification would help!
