Landlord demanding I move out for renovations - what are my rights?

My landlord just informed me that they plan to start renovations in the next month and are insisting I vacate by then. However, I have no formal eviction notice and my lease does not mention renovations. What are my rights in this situation? Has anyone dealt with a similar issue?
