Anyone else feeling the rental pinch in Parkdale?

I've been hunting for a place in Parkdale, but the rent seems crazy! I thought this area had a reputation for being more affordable. Is it just me, or have prices really shot up lately? Plus, I can't keep up with all the new bars and restaurants popping up—definitely a sign it's changing!
