How's the commute from 2600 Jane St to downtown, is it manageable?

I'm considering moving to 2600 Jane St and I rely heavily on public transit. Can anyone share their experiences with the TTC commute to downtown? Is it easy to get to Union Station and how long does it usually take? Walking distance to transit would be a bonus!
