How's the commute from 651 Lawrence Ave W to downtown, manageable?

I'm considering a short-term rental at 651 Lawrence Ave W and I'm curious about the commute to downtown. Is the TTC reliable for getting to Union Station? Also, how walkable is the area for errands and day-to-day living without a car? Appreciate any insights!
