Struggling with $5000 First and Last Month Deposit

I'm feeling really stressed about the upfront deposit needed for renting. A requirement of $4000-$5000 for first and last months' rent is just impossible for me right now. Are there any payment plans available or programs that provide deposit assistance? Seeking alternatives to this massive expense!
