My landlord leaves random fruit at my door – sweet but weird!

So, my landlord has taken to leaving random seasonal fruit at my door each week. One time I got a bag of lemons, the next week it was a bunch of overripe bananas. Not sure if this is a 'welcome gift' or a ploy to get me to bake! Anyone else have a quirky landlord? Is this normal behavior?
