Furnished vs Unfurnished Rentals: What's the Real Cost?

I'm torn between furnished and unfurnished rentals in Toronto. Is the extra cost for furnished really worth it? What’s typically included in a furnished rental? Also, is it better for short-term stays, or should I just buy my own furniture for long-term living?
