Need tips for first-time renting in Toronto!

Hey everyone! I'm moving to Toronto in June and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed about finding a place. Can anyone share what to expect in terms of rental deposits and lease lengths? Also, have you had good experiences in neighbourhoods like Leslieville or Roncesvalles? Thanks in advance!
