Talk me out of moving to a new rental in a sketchy neighborhood

I found a $2200 two-bedroom in a neighborhood that's a bit sketchy, but it's more space than what I currently have. On the one hand, I need more room, but I'm really worried about safety and my commute. I need someone to either validate my feelings or talk me out of this decision.
