How's the commute from 50 Prince Arthur Ave to downtown, realistic?

I'm looking at 50 Prince Arthur Ave and wondering how the commute to downtown would be. Is the TTC reliable from there, and how long does it usually take? Also, is it easy to live car-free in that area with good access to public transit?
