Is rent really eating 50% of my income? Need help!

I feel overwhelmed trying to figure out if I can afford $2400 rent on a $60k salary. The 30% rule seems impossible these days. With taxes and extra fees, my rent is eating half my income! How do I calculate what I can truly afford without stressing out?
