Shocked by 50% Rent Hike in Toronto for a 2-Bedroom Apartment!

I can't believe how much rent has skyrocketed! Searching for a 2-bedroom for my roommate and I, and I'm seeing prices 30-50% higher than what we currently pay. It's baffling to see the same building charging different amounts! Why is rent $500 more for new tenants? This turnover rent spike is crazy!
