Subletting confusion due to landlord's refusal - advice needed

I'm looking to sublet my apartment for a few months while away for work, but my landlord refuses to allow it. I've checked my lease and there’s no explicit clause against it. Has anyone faced a similar situation? What steps did you take to negotiate with your landlord or find a workaround?
