Need advice on rental safety in Parkdale

I'm looking to rent in Parkdale and found a few decent listings around $1700 for a one-bedroom. Can anyone share their experiences regarding safety in the area? Also, what should I keep in mind when using Facebook Marketplace for rentals? Thanks!
