What happens when my lease ends in Toronto?

My lease is ending soon, and I'm confused about what to expect. Does it automatically renew, or do I need to move? My landlord wants me to sign a new lease, but I'm not sure if I have to. Also, can they raise my rent? Any insights on month-to-month conversions would help!
