How's the commute from 229 Vaughan Rd to downtown, is it manageable?

I'm considering moving to 229 Vaughan Rd and I'm curious about the daily commute to downtown. How reliable is the TTC in this area? Is it a quick ride to Union Station? Also, can I manage day-to-day errands without a car around there?
