Frustrated with Landlord's Repair Responsibilities in Toronto

I've been dealing with broken appliances for weeks now and my landlord just won't fix anything! Whose responsibility is it to handle maintenance issues? How fast must they respond to repair requests? I want to know my rights as a tenant in Toronto because this situation is so frustrating!
