Anyone else feel trapped by rent and transit options?

I'm currently renting in a pricey neighborhood but find the transit access is a nightmare. Living near the subway would be a game-changer, but the rent is just astronomical! Is it worth it to pay more for convenience when my commute is already 90 minutes?
