Upstairs neighbor sounds like they're bowling at 3am. What to do?

I can hear my upstairs neighbor making a racket every night around 3am. It sounds like they're moving furniture or bowling or something! I’ve tried politely knocking on their door, but nothing seems to help. How do you deal with noise like this? Anyone else in a similar situation?
