Talk me out of moving to a smaller place for $200 less

I'm considering downsizing to a 1BR for $200 less than my current 2BR. Pros include lower rent and lower utility costs, but I’ll miss the extra space and natural light. My current lease ends soon and the smaller place is more convenient for my commute, but I’m torn. Help me decide!
