What's the transit scene like at 1680 ellesmere rd for downtown trips

I'm looking into 1680 Ellesmere Rd for my family and need to know about daily commutes to downtown. How easy is it to hop on the TTC from here? Any tips on bus routes or the nearest subway station? Would love to hear about bike lanes too!
