Just saw 329 The West Mall and curious about the local amenities

I'm looking at 329 The West Mall for a 2-bedroom with a roommate. Seems like a decent area but I'm curious about nearby shops, parks, and any cool cafes. Also, how's the transit access there? Would love to know what locals enjoy around this part of town.
