Lost out again - bidding wars are brutal!

Just lost another place today. Someone offered $300 over asking rent, and I feel like I'm stuck in this never-ending cycle of getting outbid. How are people even managing to afford these crazy offers? It’s so frustrating to see good places slip away. Is this the new normal for rentals in Toronto?
