Need advice on breaking lease due to abrupt job relocation

Unusual situation - I just got a job offer in a different city, but I'm stuck with 5 months left on my lease. I've tried talking to my landlord, but they're not flexible. Has anyone been through this? What options do I have to break the lease without facing heavy penalties?
