Is spending 60-70% of my income on rent the new normal in Toronto?

I'm currently dedicating 60% of my income to rent, and honestly, it feels unsustainable. How do others manage their finances with such high costs? Is this just the way things are now, or are there better strategies to cope with rent eating my paycheck check by check?
