Apartment hunting vent - so done with this process

Just need to vent real quick. I've applied to so many listings, only to get ghosted every time. The competition is insane—showed up to a viewing with 25 other people! Why is this market so exhausting? I'm just burnt out and losing hope finding a place even before school starts.
