I’m looking to sublet an apartment in Ontario, but my potential landlord is asking for a pet deposit. Is a pet deposit legal here, or is it considered a rent fee? What can landlords charge for pets? I’ve heard mixed info about pet fees vs deposits and whether they’re allowed, so I’m pretty confused!
