How to navigate moving permit parking for trucks in downtown toronto

I'm moving back downtown to a rental in Riverdale and just realized I need a parking permit for the moving truck. The building's elevator is already booked, and I'm stressing about tipping the movers. What's the normal amount? Should I save some cash for unexpected fees? Thanks!
