How to handle elevator booking delays moving out of bloor west village

I’m moving back in with my family to save some cash and my condo won't confirm the elevator for moving day until 72 hours before. What’s worse, I just found out about a surprise $100 fee for the elevator! Has anyone else dealt with this nonsense? Any tips to avoid moving day chaos?
