Just spotted 4300 bathurst st and curious about the local scene

I just found 4300 Bathurst St and it seems pretty central with the TTC nearby. Can anyone share about local spots for groceries or cafes? Also, how walkable is the area for everyday needs? I'm looking for a lively but not too hectic environment as an international student.
