Are these deposit demands legal? Skeptical about my landlord's charges!

Just started looking for a place in Toronto, and I'm a bit confused. My potential landlord wants a pet deposit and a hefty key deposit on top of a damage deposit. Are these even legal? Seems like they’re trying to profit off new grads like me with these extra fees. Anyone else dealt with this?
