Average 1BR in Toronto hits $2400 - Is this the new normal?

How is anyone affording rent in Toronto anymore? I just checked the listings, and it seems the average 1BR is now at $2400! I've been struggling to find anything under $2000, and it's beyond frustrating. How are people managing this affordability crisis?
