How much do movers cost for a downsizing move in toronto

I’m helping my elderly parent downsize from a Mississauga apartment to a smaller condo in downtown Toronto. Movers quoted anywhere from $800 to $2,000, which is a huge range! Anyone recently went through this and can share what you paid or tips for finding affordable movers?
