Why do moving companies toronto quotes differ by up to 800 dollars

I’m moving from a high-rise condo in Liberty Village and got quotes ranging from $1,200 to $2,000 for a 2-bedroom. One company added a fuel surcharge out of nowhere on moving day! What’s the deal? Are most movers this inconsistent with pricing? Trying to budget my move soon.
