How much do movers charge for a little italy walkup apartment move

I'm trying to move my elderly parent from a walkup in Little Italy to a smaller condo. The last time we hired movers, they scratched the floors and wouldn't take responsibility! How much should I expect to pay this time around for a short move like this? Really need reliable and affordable movers.
