Horror story: Elevator broke on moving day, chaos ensued

Worst moving day ever! Our elevator decided to break down just as the movers arrived. We ended up carrying everything up 12 flights of stairs – nearly lost a couch down the stairwell! Anyone else have hilarious or terrible moving day stories? Would love to hear them!
