What's transit like around 40 Tyndall Ave for downtown commutes

I'm looking at 40 Tyndall Ave for a rental and I really need good transit options. I work downtown and want to know how close the subway and streetcar stops are, plus the biking situation. Are the bike lanes safe, and is it easy to get to Union Station from there?
