How to time giving notice while booking movers for a downtown condo

I’m moving in with my partner in a month from my student apartment near U of T. Just found out I’ll have overlapping rents for two weeks! How do I time giving notice to my current landlord while booking movers? I'm worried about extra costs piling up if I do it wrong.
