How do people manage low income rent in Toronto?

I'm struggling to figure out how to pay rent on minimum wage in Toronto. With the rising costs, it feels impossible to afford anything decent. What’s included in rent? What utilities do I have to pay separately? Seriously, how do people survive? Any tips for making ends meet would be appreciated!
